I received my copy of Zero History about a week before it went on sale to the public. Some time in the late summer it showed up on my doorstep, a few days before I was to make the 5 hour flight from Vancouver to Toronto.
I arrived at #YVR and sat reading Zero History in the lounge awaiting the boarding call for my flight.
A woman walked up to me, pointed at the book, and asked me if I was reading the newest William Gibson book.
I said that I was.
She looked at me said, “I thought that it wasn’t on sale until some time next week.”
“You’re right,” I said.
I was sitting in an airport reading a book from the future.
This interview was conducted from Joe Planta’s east Vancouver studio.
William was in Ottawa at the time and spoke to us from some mystical food court on his cell phone.
