Very much looking forward to attending this very cool annual event tomorrow at the MaRS Building in downtown Toronto.
This will be my second consecutive year attending the BookNet Canada Tech Forum and if it’s anything like last year’s event it will be a full day of discussion and ideas about the collision of traditional book industry values and the opportunities that new technologies provide for publishers to adapt and prosper in the present and future tense.
And judging by the quality and range of speakers who will be presenting tomorrow there will be new ideas, new approaches and more than a few challenging concepts brought to the table.
I am very interested to hear Mitch Joel deliver the keynote and also to hear what Monique Trottier has to say about tracking and measuring success online.
More than any of the presentations, free coffees, etc… I look forward to seeing friends from around the way and to meeting new colleagues and building future partnerships in ridiculous projects.
When the conferencing is done and the ties are loosened the real conversations will begin at nearby Pogue Mahones Pub where yours truly + the Book Madam, the beautiful women behind Open Book Toronto/Ontario and the emergent CanBPA present SOCIABLE 2.0.
Some finger foods provided.
Drinks will flow, laughter will commence.
Friday will be taken off from work.
